A Baby in My Belly
How many times during this third, back-to-back, and less than easy pregnancy have I anxiously thought, “I can’t wait to have this baby out!”
Then I remember:
That through previous miscarriages and heartbreaking loss, this is precisely what I have so often longed for. That my mom rightly taught me not to “wish it away,” but to enjoy the moment, which passes all too quickly. That friends of mine crave this very feeling, discomforts and all.
And the other night it truly hit me – there is a growing baby INSIDE my belly. What an amazing miracle! One that, let’s face it, I might never ever experience again.
So in this final countdown (8 days! yes, despite what I just said, I am still anxious – but mostly to meet the little guy) I am trying to savor the glorious things like hard kicks and strange shuffles, and even the not so fun aspects of pregnancy like heartburn and frequent trips to the loo.
Because I realize that all too soon this little miracle will begin life outside and increasingly independent of me.

Parallel to Interactive
Tadpole is increasingly moving from the so-called and debated "parallel play" to more interactive play, as evidenced by his recent interaction with his friend Norah. It was loads of fun watching them truly interact and make each other laugh hysterically - and all without fighting over toys or fussing! It made me excited for when Tigger is a bit older and the two of them really begin to play together! Although I anticipate that will not always be without the arguing......
